We had an incredible year and now it’s time for us to set our sights on 2022! That means a lot of planning, preparing and securing the financial support we need to move forward.
Despite the obstacles we all faced, we almost doubled our events this year because of you…your love…your encouragement and your support. Thank you! Whether you just participated in one of our Weekend events or spent three months preparing to team…what we do, we do for Him and His Kingdom, which means you and all those you love!
We don’t believe in using any fancy sales techniques, nor do we market our “product.” What we do believe in is you and our Jehovah Jireh, to provide for our needs. With that said, we simply ask that you consider the results of our efforts. Take a long look in the mirror and remember your 36 hours…the peace you gained, the healing you received, the new life you now experience. Consider the impact that’s had on you, your marriage, your family, and your loved ones. What difference has that made in your life?
With that in mind, we want to present you the opportunity to make a difference in the life of another, because that is what being part of His Kingdom is all about. And you know firsthand, that 36 hours in His Presence really can change a life!
Our Exciting News!
So, here’s our exciting announcement, and just a snippet of what is to come in 2022 and beyond!
We are currently finalizing an arrangement with Bethany Church which will provide Discovery Weekends with a permanent home at The Timothy Center (a portion of the grounds pictured above)! This agreement allows us priority scheduling for all our events, as well as special privileges, to include constructing additional facilities on the grounds, such as a permanent Dining Hall and Kitchen. We even get to put our “brand” on the property. So, in keeping with our official non-profit organization (Engedi Ministries International, Inc.) it will become “The Oasis”!
In preparation for what’s coming, our goal is to raise $44K dollars before the new year begins. That’s a huge leap of faith for us, but that’s what we’re believing for. Call it a “seed” for all that needs to follow, or a hope for a God-sized opportunity, but you can be sure that your gift will make a difference in what the Lord is preparing for us to accomplish…together! How exciting is that!!
We struggle with large numbers, because it’s never been about the money for us. But it is a need. So, we’ve learned to break things down a bit. Think of it this way, we have thousands of alumni…what if just 44 of us gave $1,000? Or 88 gave $500? How about only 200 of us gave $220? You get the point…when we join in this mission together, nothing is impossible!
Please click on the link below now…pray now…think big…give big, because we serve a BIG God who will do abundantly more than all we could ask or imagine!
Be THE Difference!
We hosted a two-day Leadership Summit at the Timothy Center for our Coordinators and many of our other leaders. Josiah Erwin was the guest speaker who conducted an enneagram workshop. This was the first of what will be an annual event where we will pour back into our leaders and share tools to strengthen their leadership skills.
Holly Erwin and Liz Moore hosted a Women's Discovery Weekend Coordinator Retreat in Mobile, AL. We enjoyed some fun team building and communication activities, fellowship and prayer time. It was a great opportunity for our women's leadership to get together away from the demands of coordinating a Discovery Weekend.
March, April, August, October 2021
In total 163 men attended Men's Discovery Weekend and 137 volunteers served in team positions. We feel blessed to have been able to offer more DW's than in previous years, in spite of the any challenges 2021 brought all of us.
May and August 2021
In total 70 women attended Women's Discovery Weekend and 65 volunteers served in team positions. Our May WDW filled in less than 45 minutes! We even managed to pull of our August WDW (even though everyone could not attend) as Hurricane Ida approached. We ended on Saturday night so everyone could get home and finish storm prep. God made a way!
A third WDW was scheduled for October, but prolonged power outages from Hurricane Ida prevented us from moving forward. It takes 10-weeks to prepare the team for a Discovery Weekend. We shifted gears and instead hosted If: Gathering 2021. The theme was "Even If" which was fitting considering our circumstances. 62 women (participants and team members) had an incredible two days of challenging teaching, powerful praise and worship, and sweet fellowship with one another. We have plans to host again next year, March 4-5, 2022.
